Mammoth Mountain Chalets

Nestled in the trees right above Mammoth Mountain Main Main Lodge, the cozy and secluded cabins of Mammoth Mountain Chalets are the epitome of “getting away from it all.” During snow season, a vintage snowcat shuttles guests and their belongings to individual units at 9000 feet. It’s truly an unforgettable experience!

Each charming cabin is conveniently ski-in ski-out in the winter. In the summer months, numerous hiking and mountain biking trails are literally at your doorstep, and a nearby shuttle takes explorers to Reds Meadow and Yosemite National Park. Private decks and wood-burning stoves encourage long chats, and many of the units allow four-legged friends to join in the adventure.

Repeat guests love the fully equipped kitchens for family meals after a day of playing on the mountain. And, all the action and excitement of Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge is right next door, so you can be as social or secluded as you like.

Tamarack Lodge and Resort

If staying in the heart of the Mammoth Lakes Basin is your desire, then there’s no better choice than the historic Tamarack Lodge and Resort on the sparkling shores of Twin Lakes. This stunning property, comprised of a number of secluded cabins and rustic lodge rooms, was built in 1924 and offers immediate access to the Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center in the winter and the hiking trails and lakes of the Mammoth Lakes Basin in the summer.

It’s been a favorite for generations, and for good reason: despite an aura of timelessness hewed in stone and timber, the lodge has one of the most distinctive restaurants in all of Mammoth Lakes, the elegant Lakefront Restaurant, as well as WiFi and all the regular hotel amenities you deserve on vacation.

Edelweiss Lodge

Searching for something a little more rustic? The knotty-pine charm of the Edelweiss Lodge may be the place for you to hang your hat—err, ski helmet. Nestled in Jeffrey Pines of Old Mammoth Road, this locally owned business has been offering cabins and hotel-style rooms since 1957.

While it may appear as though you’ve gone back in time, the pet-friendly Edelweiss offers the amenities of today: fully equipped kitchens, cable TV and free WiFi… all served up with homemade cookies.

Sierra Meadows Ranch

Located on 17 beautiful acres and boasting a 360-degree view of Mammoth Lakes, Sierra Meadows Ranch provides an escape from the hustle of daily life… but is also just a short walk or Red Line shuttle ride into The Village.

Their rustic cabins accommodate up to 10 people, so get that group together! Each cabin comes with a kitchen, full bathroom, WiFi, forced-air heating and incredibly comfortable plush mattresses. Guests can set out on one of the ranch’s many trailheads leading to the nearby lakes, or stay closer to home base and visit with the horses boarding in summer, or enjoy the stream that flows along the property.

Pinecliff Resort

Want to feel like you’ve traveled back in time when it comes to both décor and pricing? Consider Pinecliff Resort and its vintage 1950s-style cabins. Located in a quiet neighborhood, it’s remote enough to feel like an escape, but also close to the downtown area and ski lifts.

All units are dog-friendly, and several open out onto forested area that’s perfect for snow play. Each cabin has a full kitchen, WiFi, fireplace or wood-burning stove, cable TV and easy parking. The property is owner-operated by people happy to handle special requests and last-minute bookings.

SUMMER-ONLY CABINS RENTALS IN MAMMOTH LAKES

Crystal Crag Lodge

Named after a steep and rugged rock, which can be seen from the Mammoth Lakes Basin, the secluded Crystal Crag Lodge is settled on the shore of Lake Mary. For almost a hundred years, visitors have been enjoying the lodge’s incredible setting: the lake’s sparkling, trout-filled water; the pure, invigorating air; and the countless tree-lined hiking and biking trails on the edge of the High Sierra back country.

Its elevation is high—9,000 feet—but the drive in from town and all of its conveniences is a short one. The rustic cabins are fully equipped with stocked kitchens, private bathrooms, fireplaces and decks with barbecues. Some even offer incredible mountain or lake views, and all benefit from the friendly, on-site staff.

Wildyrie Lodge

Want to unplug and get away from it all? Consider the historic Wildyrie Lodge (pronounced “wild-eye-ree”) at Lake Mamie in the Mammoth Lakes Basin. Its private, lakeside cottages offer full kitchens, bathrooms and spacious sun decks with barbeques.

Bed & breakfast-style rooms are available in the main lodge, where visitors can also inquire about renting boats. Whether you’re planning a fishing frenzy, romantic rendezvous or group gathering, this hidden gem may have the classic cabin for you!

Woods Lodge

Another way to get in touch with nature while still enjoying amenities such as a hot shower and a comfy bed is Lake George’s Woods Lodge. Their rustic cabins have full kitchens and fireplaces, and many boast jaw-dropping views of the stunning scenery surrounding the property.

If you’re interested in doing more than gazing at the serene water, rowboats and motorboats are available to rent. Birds, squirrels and sometimes even bears can be found at the Woods Lodge, along with the many visitors who’ve been making annual trips here for decades.
