FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MAMMOTH LAKES PARTNERS CONTINUE VIDEO SERIES AND STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN
“Keep Mammoth Lakes Unreal – It’s a Mammoth Thing” video series continues for the winter covering critical topics related to responsible recreation and visitation.
Mammoth Lakes, California (November 27, 2024): Mammoth Lakes Tourism, in collaboration with the Town of Mammoth Lakes and Mammoth Lakes Recreation, launched a 5-video series “Keep Mammoth Lakes Unreal – It’s a Mammoth Thing” last summer. The campaign aimed to create a culture of protecting and preserving Mammoth Lakes through original content that resonated with both residents and visitors. The series has addressed topics ranging from proper disposal of dog waste to wildlife safety. This winter, the series continues with videos covering topics like public transportation, proper parking, and tips on safe driving and snow chain use.
The first winter video of the series coincides with the Thanksgiving opening of Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center and is titled “Park Less, Play More!” The video addresses accessing the Lakes Basin in winter. Viewers are encouraged to use free public transportation via the Orange Line, and if driving is necessary, the video reminds viewers to use caution, watch for pedestrians, and park properly in the limited spaces available.
The campaign utilizes a multi-channel marketing approach to promote each video and its corresponding messages to ensure maximum reach and impact. The campaign is supported by:
Public Relations and Media Outreach: Issuing press releases, pitching stories to local and regional media, and engaging influencers to amplify the campaign’s messages.
Website and email: Mammoth Lakes Tourism has created a dedicated campaign page on the VisitMammoth.com website, published blog posts, and sent targeted email blasts.
Social media: Full videos, teasers, and interactive posts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
Betsy Truax, Vice President of Community Engagement for Mammoth Lakes Tourism, says, “Mammoth Lakes Tourism is committed to providing thoughtful messaging devoted to education and stewardship of our unreal natural environment. Through this partnership with the Town of Mammoth Lakes and Mammoth Lakes Recreation, we demonstrate our shared dedication to address pressing stewardship issues, ensuring responsible recreation, and protecting Mammoth Lakes’ extraordinary natural beauty for future generations.”
