The Mammoth Lakes Repertory Theatre, whose mission is to support live theater in Mono and Inyo counties, offers a mix of thought-provoking shows and lighter-hearted, comedic productions from March through October. Enjoy classics like “Of Mice and Men” and Tony Award-winning comedies like “Boeing Boeing.”

The Sierra Classic Theatre presents timeless, award-winning theater productions during their season, as well as events like the beloved fall Murder Mystery Fundraiser Show, which takes place at different restaurants around town each year. During Shakespeare in the Woods in August, the celebrated playwright’s works are performed against Mammoth Lakes’ stunning outdoor backdrops. Bring a picnic, and prepare to be dazzled by a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience.

Hankering for a night out at the movies? You’ll find Hollywood blockbusters and new releases at Minaret Cinemas at the Minaret Village Shopping Center. Or, plan to attend the world-class Mammoth Lakes Film Festival in May — a favorite of local cinemaphiles. You never know what celebrities might be hanging around town during the film festival.
